Hi, I’m Sayali Ghotikar—
a Mumbai-born, Berlin-based illustrator
and graphic designer.
After spending more than 20 years in graphic design, I found myself increasingly drawn to illustration. It had always been there in the background, quietly waiting for its moment. Today, illustration sits at the heart of my creative practice, alongside my continuing work in graphic design.
My illustrations are inspired by everyday life—the silly, the sweet, and the wonderfully ordinary. I'm drawn to moments that feel familiar yet special, finding stories in small observations and simple pleasures. Using bright colours, playful details, and a touch of whimsy, I create images that celebrate these moments and invite others
to see them in a new light.
Cats often make unexpected appearances in my work, and themes like JOMO (the Joy of Missing Out) reflect my appreciation for slower rhythms, quiet joys,
and mindful living.
Whether I'm working on a children's book, an editorial illustration, a brand identity, or a print project, I'm interested in creating visuals that feel warm, engaging, and human—work that tells a story, sparks a smile, or simply lingers for a moment.
