My pottery studio is an extension of my thoughts, upbringing, and surroundings, and I wanted my logo to reflect that. The logo was particularly tricky since I also intended to use it as a signature stamp for my pottery pieces, which added another layer of complexity.. She understood my requirements with ease and within the set timeframe, presented creative designs that truly resonated with me. Collaborating with her felt like chatting with an old friend—non-judgmental and sympathetic. She grasped my vision and suggested practical designs that made sense. What stood out most was her innovative approach. I wanted unconventional colors that still held personal meaning, Despite the challenge, she delivered beautiful combinations, executing the logo with exceptional care and attention to detail. Working with her was a seamless experience.
When it came to the posters I was looking for something out of the box—creative yet direct. Sayali nailed it. The posters are distinct, artistic, and visually striking, yet crisp and clear for the viewer. She captured the essence perfectly, blending artistry with clarity.

Whenever I request her for cover, we have a good long discussion over phone. She asks for my need. I believe that cover is not merely an illustration but it has to provoke the reader to look inside. After few rounds of discussion, she again reads the content and then allows my articulation to gel. This gives time needed for gestation of the idea.
Then she works on proposals. Many a time three or four and we both together agree/disagree and discuss and then crystalise the final concept. Naturally my book covers have always been appreciated by readers.
Sayali’s creative process is very structured. She first reads the book. Applies her mind to the content and looks for the concluding statement. Then she starts working on the concept. It can be abstract or can be naturalistic. Once she has specific thought in her mind, she creates or searches for images and asks me to see if they relate. Once we both agree on a specific image or pattern she builds the cover. I like this process since it also forces me to introspect and look inside my writing and confirm if this is what I wish to state. In summation her work culture is very collaborative.
Sayali is approachable and encourages disagreements which suits me perfectly. If I disagree with her concept, I can state very bluntly and she promptly returns to her drawing board and come up with concept entirely different. Her ability to be flexible and not rigid about her original idea is key to her success. She perfectly understands that she is a go between the writer and the reader and book is that of writers. One can replace writer with publisher. She will be always collaborative.
She is very keen on capturing details. I remember her cover for Café Oceana. In the original design the paper napkin on the table did not have tea cup stains. Then she realised if the cover has to come alive, she must make it more realistic. The spots of tea cups give a lively impression. This is effect of her eye for details. I can narrate more stories about such detailing.
As a result, when the book is published readers first react to cover. My Kindly Unlimited readership is considerable and hard copies sales have been in thousands of copies. Book covers designed by Sayali are key to the success of my books.
I strongly recommend Sayali Ghotikar to Publishers and Writers.
